Hello & Welcome

Ceren introducing herself

Do you know what we both have in common, though we don’t know each other yet? I am also a big fan of long white sandy beaches and unspoiled landscapes. I am fascinated by the turquoise sea, the authentic villages and warmth and serenity of the people - although my boss put great effort and many years of persuasion into getting me to the island.

I was going with the statement, "But only for one season!! (6 months)"….. Now 3 years later I am still in Cape Verde: o)

-----------------------------------------------------
My adventure trip

How does a girl from Colgne, Germany ever come round to the idea to Boavista? And why does one find this job so much fun? Is that crazy? As a travel passionate kid I have always dreamed of: "When I grow up, I would like to live near the sea, have a family there and work as tour guide." Said and done - with many colourful detours - I am now here with you.

----------------------------------------------------
Puberty

I always wanted to travel the world, conquer all languages learn, and boredom was a thorn in my side - my parents didn’t have it easy with me. At the age of 17 I had the desire to drop everything and leave home to work as animator in a Turkish Club. My parents beat the idea out of my head and as an alternative I began my apprenticeship as an insurance clerk! There I also had 2 school friends. I was satisfied. My parents were happy too, since their child is now doing something "sensible".

-----------------------------------------------------
Finally grown up?

For years in the processing of claims, I was still haunted by the Travel bug. After all, my friends gave me the name "Hobby Travel Agent" because I took care of all of their holiday needs including advice and tips. I realized that this was more fulfilling for me than my own work. And one day a light went off in my head during my lunch break – it’s now or never! There was an ad by a major German travel tour operator on display. And I thought to myself: Now I will write out this application and take the response as fate, if it’s a no, then I´ll grab my briefcase and get back to my 9-5.

-----------------------------------------------------
Finally!

It worked! I packed my bags within 4 weeks for a restart and moved from Cologne to Frankfurt. There I began my tourism training in the regional distribution and marketing department. I also learnt during my training the airport stations, travel agencies, and also the head office operations in Hannover. I discovered my passion and flourished in my work.

-----------------------------------------------------
A dream come true

The time came and I decided to work for the Tour Operator as a rep and a tour guide. My first year I spent on the beautiful island of Madeira. Then I moved on to the Cape Verde island of Sal and after 18 months I went to Boa Vista. On the island of Sal I was then Team Manager. My work gave me so much joy. Other cultures, different food, different people and many nice guests, great conversations, and lots of friendships. And how about the dream with the sun, the house and the sea? :O)

-----------------------------------------------------
Passions

What other passions do I have in my life? I love languages. In addition to German (of course!), Turkish (Native) and English I also speak Portuguese and now also the local language of creole. In school I learned French and Spanish. I play volley ball passionately, I enjoy running a lap around the block, taking pictures, I love eating fish and interested in creative and artistic things. I am excited to meet different people and interested in their life stories. And in my free time I like to lay by the beach and try out various water sports.

-----------------------------------------------------
My mission today

Today I would like to pursue only my favourite activities and bring you along on my trips and bring you closer to Boa Vista and Cape Verde. I want to show you all that I have seen and experienced. A life in Boa Vista outside the hotel facilities. I have concluded that Cape Verde and its unique people are in my heart and I want to give something back and support them.

From this sprang the idea to take things into their own hands. And here we are - Local Vista Tours.

And who knows, perhaps you´ll also put Cape Verde in your heart and create some new lifelong friendships or memories?

I Would Love to See You!
