Who we are
Me, Ceren from Germany found my home in Boa Vista long time ago. My team and I accompany you as experienced tour guides in our adventures and create unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.

What we stand for
Local Vista Tours stands for the respectful and supportive encounter with the locals and nature. We work exclusively with local partners, businesses, farmers and families and would like to strengthen this cooperation further in order to continue to bring the benefits of tourism to the communities. We are creating intercultural encounters, thereby supporting our Boa Vista inhabitants.

How do I prepare myself for a good day?
Good breakfast / Carry something to drink / pack high factor sunscreen / Possibly hat and sunglasses / Some spending money / Slip-resistant footwear (When trekking, shoes with good tread) / swimwear and change of clothes / Camera and Smiles!
Payment of tours
We take payment in Euros or Escudos. Contact us if you are unsure the amount in Escudo and we can advise you on how much you need to change from pounds into the local currency with the hotel reception.
Road to lighthouse

Road trip for nature lovers
We visit the Fortes family on their huge farm in Joao Galego and enjoy lunch locally. After which we take a short hike to the lighthouse in Morre Negro, where you can enjoy the amazing panoramic views of the ocean. We won't only look at the refreshing water from distance, we’ll also take a break at a close natural beach. The grand finale on the way back to the hotel will be the stop at the famous sharks’ bay!

Experience the vast Viana desert and let your inner child out on the white sand dunes. On the way to Povoacao Velha we cross the rocky desert and pass by the mountains: Santa Antonio and Rocha Estancia. After a walk in the old village we are going to the two most beaitiful beaches on the island: Varandinha with its caves to relax and Santa Monica with its 17 kilometre long span of beach, perfect for a swim. The highlight at the end is our famous local beach BBQ. Don´t miss it!

Shipwreck Cabo Santa Maria

From North to south – for discovery lovers
Off road you go through the stone desert to the famous shipwreck with an on route stop in Bofareira. Experience the vastness of the Viana desert. After lunch the amazing beach Praia das Chaves is calling you for a swim, with a stop to collect fresh almonds in Fonte Vicente! Explore the abandoned village of
Curral Velho. The day is rounded off with another swim stop at the untouched Santa Monica beach.

Streets of Sal Rei

Old and new
First we visit Rabil, the old capital. Colourful houses, old streets and the pottery factory give this city its charm. Then we visit the new capital: Sal Rei. We will walk across the main square and the markets using the streets and alleys off the classic tourist routes. We spontaneously choose a rest stop from the many restaurants and cafes. On the way to the shipwreck, we’ll pass the old chapel of Fatima near Ponta do Sol – you will love it!

Little walk to the lake of Odjo d´Mar with local lunch and visiting the north villages. From Cabeca das Tarafes we will go off road by 4x4 over hills and valleys to a tiny hidden natural lake. We will walk about 45-50 minutes one way. Let´s enjoy the impressive small lake between the rocks and hills together.
